TNH Modern Season 17, Race 4

May 3rd, 6:30 PDT qualifying. Budweiser Columbia Cup (San Diego course).

Race 4 is in the books. With the smallest field of the season just 5 boats showed up John Steach in the Miss WAZZU wins his 3 race of the season. Mickey Washburn in the T-Plus was the top qualifier. Jeff DeWalt and Steach had 2 heat wins. With Mickey Washburn and Beau Rarig with 1 each. In the Final Heat Steach, Rarig, and DeWalt had great starts with Washburn a second late. After the 1st turn it was a 3 boat race with Washburn trailing the pack. DeWalt lead for a couple of laps before Steach in lane 1 took over. DeWalt and Rarig had a good deck to deck battle for 2nd with Rarig taking it, and Washburn finished in 4th. Mickey Washburn has a 812 point lead over Jeff DeWalt in the Season points race after 4 races.

Maybe it was a small field because THE WRONG DATE WAS PRINTED IN THE SCHEDULE. I missed the race because the original date for the Columbia Cup was May 4th. Gene missed the race for the same reason.
