I'll be in DC for work on the 26th (which is why I'm glad Mickey took over running the races). See everyone for race 4.

Only 6 boats showed up for the Gold Cup tonight, none of the drivers have won it before. T-Plus was top qualifier 165.764. Lots of deck to deck racing in the heats leading up to the final heat. In the Final Heat the U7 Graham Trucking II and the U8 Executone had great starts and were first to the turn. Up the backstretch T-Plus pulled up even with the U7 and they trailed the U8. The U7 flipped entering the T2 and the U1 flipped at the apex of the same turn. There was no calls by the judges on both flips but the U1 hit a outside buoy and the U7 missed a outside buoy so both received 1 lap penalties. The U8 lead every lap with the U2 trying to catch him. They entered the roostertail turn for the final time the U8 went a little too wide and the U2 hugged the buoys and beat him by a sponson tip. Congrats to Mickey Washburn with his 1st Gold Cup victory.

Bummed I missed this one big time but I had my 2nd baby girl earlier in the day
