HydroSim Exhibition Race 2
-
Saturday June 9th qualifying starts at 5pm pacific time. We will have a random draw for qualifying order . We will run H1 rules so here's a couple of reminders:
80 mph speed limit you get 1 warning (starts over each heat) then a 1 lap penalty.
If a boat cuts the course he loses all right away when he reenters the course. The boat doesn't establish a lane until it passes two buoys.
Lanes are set at the entrance buoy of turn 2 to the start line, after the start you must have overlap to change lanes.
There will be no DMZ zones but please don't cut the course in the middle of the turns or stuff like that -

I'm excited to race again! Question: Do we have to pick a real unlimited, or can we also run a custom boat if we want?. I'm cool with whatever, just curious before I pick a boat.

For the race on Saturday what do people think about if you flip your done for the heat. Even if you end up right side up.
-
@Mickey I like the idea of not being able to reset but I think if you land right side up you should be able to continue
-
@CanYouFoush It's an H1 rule that if you blow over, you shut off the engine and the race stops, no matter if you land right-side-up or not. Obviously, for UHL, we wouldn't stop the race, but if we're going for closely matching the H1 rules, you should stop if you flip.
-
@Beau-Rarig yes I was thinking the same thing and itβs more of a risk if your going to air the boat out.
-
@Mickey Eddie mentioned to me that the prop keeps spinning after you flip, so if you land right-side-up, you'll keep moving. I say (for now) hit ESC if you flip. You'll get a DNF.
-
@Beau-Rarig sounds like a plan and also same goes for qualifying if you flip your done.
