7 boats turned out for the season 18 Gold Cup. The Budweiser driven by Mickey Washburn was top qualifier for the 4th straight race. Heat racing again saw multiple winners and some very clean racing for the Detroit race course. In the Final Heat the Bud nailed the start and lead wire to wire for his second Gold Cup win in a row. Jeff Dewalt took 2nd with Chris Porten finishing 3rd.
