8 boats were in the pits for the running of the Big Wake Weekend. The night started off with the Bud being top qualifier for the second race in a row. But after that it was the Chris Porten show as he won all his heats including the winner take all final. Mickey Washburn driving the Bud had 2 seconds and a first in heat racing and finished second in the final. Everybody else found out why Bill Muncey said you don't beat the Detroit river you survive it. As multiple heats saw boats fall victim to the roostertail turn. With Porten's win it makes 2 winners in 2 races for the season. Also Washburn takes over the season points lead with Porten only 82 points behind. The next race is the Lucas Oil Indiana Governors Cup October 25th
