How to get started?

Is there a site that explains how to get started ? I am really fired up to race the videos are awesome.

@RustyGears The first step is to purchase a program called rFactor for $25. Be sure to purchase rFactor 1, not rFactor 2.
http://rfactor.net/web/rf1/Next, download HydroMod.

After downloading. Where do you go to find the schedule? And it seems all other boats are locked. How do I unlock them?
Thanks in advance, -
@Aputich The current schedule can be found here:
http://www.uhlhydroplanes.com/topic/20/tnh-modern-season-16The boats should all be unlocked. The game should not hinder you from using any boat you want. In the game, you don't have to click "buy" or "install" to use whichever boat you want. Just click on a boat, and if you click "Connect" or "Control" and the boat you chose stays on screen, you should be able to use it in the game.

Hey thanks Beau. Do you have a steering whee recommendation?
-
@Aputich What wheel you would want depends on what version of Windows you have. I own a Microsoft Sidewinder, and although it's an old wheel, it works on Windows 8. You don't want to spend more than $100 on a wheel, but that's easier said than done.

@Beau-Rarig can I purchase rfactor from steam or it better directly on there site?
-
@gabz17 I don't see a problem with either method. Be sure to purchase rFactor 1, not 2.

Ive downloaded everything. still can't get to a start menu past rFactor telling me there is already a version running. Very Bummed out I've been waiting for a H1 game forever.

Sounds like you need to go to your task manager and select rfactor and click on end task. Sometimes rfactor doesn't close right. Then reopen it and see if that worked.

@Mickey That worked. Thank you. Is there a site for set ups? I can't make it around a course with out spinning out like I'm on ice. Also every time I pass start line I go to zero RPMs?
